On behalf of the Gas Miners Guild, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to one of your fine pilots - who rendered assistance in our hour of need.
The facts of the incident are as follows:
1) At approximately 19:50 hours today, two Gunboat-class vessels were sighted by a GMG Paramilitary vessel crossing Sigma-13. A general alert was broadcast by Yanagi Station soon after. The investigating GMG Paramilitary ship identified a Corsair Imperator Gunboat, and a custom-built 'Claymore' gunship. Both vessels broadcasting the IFF of a Kusari group known as the Hogosha.
2) The Hogosha ships were actively seeking out and engaging Junker vessels guarding Yanagi Station. The Junkers at Yanagi are part of the ongoing cleanup operation in Sigma-13. Regardless of the varied opinions people may have regarding the Junkers, they are still carrying out vital work for Rheinland and the GMG. The Guild does not tolerate such lawless and violent actions in our space, and the Paramilitary ship was obliged to open fire.
3) A request for assistance was sent to the Rheinland Military, and Gefreiter Tanja Voelkel responded.
4) Gefreiter Voelkel showed courage and resilience beyond the call of duty, upholding our Pact whilst under fire, and in spite of baseless threats of diplomatic reprisals.
To this end, the Guild would like to present Gefreiter Voelkel with the Kou-Iki-Kin, or "Guild Heart of Gold". It is an award for bravery under fire, and under assault of one's honour. Ideally, we would like to present this in person, should the Admiralty agree to her receiving it. A more complete battle report may be delivered if so desired.
