Hull went looking for an old friend of his, a fella named Moore. Unfortunately, he didnt make the meeting, because Moore never got the message. It was intercepted, and a trap was laid, one that Hull walked into.
Hull is still in the land of the living, but only just so. You will want to gather your forces Chief, because he has been moved to the Hudson system. I think the plan is to have the RM dispose of him, making him look like a casualty of war.
I looked at Matt Myers, and saw someone.. somethingthat told me talking to him had been the right decision. To hell with the consequences.
As for the 2 questions that are still troubling you, you deserve answers. Why werent you allowed to die? I have some sway in that department, and I judged you similar to a few others who have appeared in front of me. You are not finished. You still have much to accomplish. You will be scaring Recruit Officers for a while yet. By the way, keep that diabetes under control, and we wont be meeting in an official capacity for a long time.
As to my interest in Hull, I will say this: You have recently found out that you have a daughter, your own living flesh and blood. You also realize that we also watch out for our own.
You have things to do Chief, so I will see ya around
With that I dissolved the human form that I had taken. I flexed my will, and with that, the doors to Sunbucks unlocked and the windows cleared.
Heh I thought to myself, I almost feel sorry for anyone that gets in his way.
On second thought, nah, they get what they deserve..
Myers stormed back to his office, officers flinging themselves out of his path as he passed. His face was a thundercloud. When he entered his office, he moved to the comm unit and opened a priority channel with the Houston Precinct 301 SWAT division.
"Yes, Chief?" said an unwavering voice, steady as if a call of this nature was normal.
"Wake your asses up. I want every unit in the air as of yesterday. You're moving into the Hudson system."
"Hudson? Isn't that the Navy's..."
"Search and rescue. Deputy Chief O'Brian."
"Of course sir. We'll be there within the hour."
More than a few civilians looked twice as dozens of SWAT ships, ranging from Eagles to three Grizzlies, moved from Houston to Hudson and jumped. News reports would buzz for a couple of days as the LPI ships engaged RM fighter squadrons throughout the system searching for Hull O'Brian. Some say that the Xenos and Rogues sat back in awe as they witnessed a ferocity few had witnessed before. To a cop, there's one thing that takes priority over everything else -- assisting an officer down.
All-told, the RM lost close to two-dozen fighters. The LPI lost six. More than a few people were shocked that police ships took down soldiers like that, but they didn't know how determined the LPI were. Hull O'Brian was found in the East of the system between the two asteroid fields, barely alive in an escape pod. They rushed him back to Texas as a Rheinland battlegroup jumped into the system in retaliation.
