Liberty has grown a bit more belligerent of late.
Let me start from the top.
I am Jacob Orine, Wizard Squadron Gamma Two, callsign "Lancer".
Many months ago, I was assigned a mission to House space to locate a place the rest of Gamma flight could operate from. Unfortunately, I encountered a series of catastrophic failures that nearly cost me my life and forced me to thoroughly establish a new identity.
This made making arrangements for a flight of Order fighters rather difficult.
I decided to more-or-less settle down in Liberty to work on my new life; I'm now a registered mercenary and store owner, and I make the majority of my income hunting pirates.
That is not to say I've abandoned The Order. Quite the opposite; the purpose of this is to make it easier to watch Liberty military movements. Unfortunately, the Eagle I once flew was damaged beyond repair during an incident in Bretonia. I managed to salvage most of the technology for my new Crow, but not the weapon systems. So, for reasons that will soon become clear, I'm requesting access to Order weaponry for vessels flying under the [8A] flag - they are each personally selected by me, and I strongly support recruiting them into The Order properly when our work out here is finished. Interestingly, Liberty law no longer bans Order technology.
Unfortunately, Liberty's military is becoming inordinately belligerent of late. As you can see in the attached datalink, their marines are attacking mercenaries without any formal charges and their gunship captains are demanding fines for crimes that were never committed. It is true, however, that some mercenaries are actively hunting Liberty Navy pilots... I would suspect Nomad involvement had they been going after the LSF, but to go after an aggressor's Navy (and completely ignoring the LSF) doesn't seem to fit their MO. I still plan to watch, of course, and see what comes of it.
As to the original mission, once this business with the fine is worked out, I will return to arranging for the construction of a private hangar on Los Angeles, near my shop, which I will open for any Order pilot transmitting the proper codes. I strongly recommend that you get a less distinct ship than the Nephthys should you use this; I suspect, however, that it'll be used by me and my wingmen more because knowing you, you would have reassigned the rest of Gamma flight to another mission by now.
Regardless, we're watching Liberty, and we'll report anything suspicious to you. Updates will be more frequent now that my situation has stabilized... more or less.
I think it would be best for me to continue like this, rather than return to standard Order operations; I've already established my cover identity quite thoroughly, and it would be a shame to let that go to waste.
"Alright, you've been here a week now. Which means-" Mystic interrupts the young Zoner that came to collect the dock rent with yet another credit chit.
"Here's the money for the next week. I'm waiting for a very important message, so I'm not going anywhere."
"'slong as you pay us and don't cause any trouble, I don't really care how long you stay."
Something was recovered. I'm running every human through the detailed Nomad scanners I took out of my old Eagle and Viper prototype, and keeping them here until you send an agent out here. The Nomad remains are under secure containment.
I think you can see now why I want that equipment.
