I am Captain (a self appointed title) Benjamin Stone of the Hathor Gunboat "Retributor."
I am contacting you because I feel rather cooped up in Omicron Minor. Normally I spend my time assisting the new recruits, which is an important task, but a rather boring one. I need an assignment away from Order controlled systems.
Earlier today I assisted two capital ships as they battled Liberty Cruiser patrols in Alaska; it was a refreshing change from blasting Hammerheads of the BHG.
A gunboat I took down without assistance
I know I can't just waltz on out and blast whomever I feel necessary (it would reflect quite badly on us) so
please assign me to a system or a target so I can alleviate my boredom and feel as if I have a purpose.
"Unfortunately this seems to be a more and more common issue among The Order. Our intelligence division and agents arent able to identify targets quickly enough, or in high enough numbers, to keep our pilots 'busy' with hunting those targets, and lately Nomad presence in the Omicrons seems to have calmed down a bit. As you say, we do need to start handing out assignments to our pilots, there just arent really enough combat assignments to go around."
"First off, if you havent responded to the new Order Roster, I would recommend doing so. If you're looking for busy work, I would suggest moving out to Freeport 1 in the Omega 3 system, and starting patrols throughout the Omegas. We need to show a presence against the Wilde threat in those systems, their attacks are becoming more and more aggressive particularly against the miners in the area. Be careful not to anger any Hessians, LWB, or Bundschuh in those systems, we have only recently signed an alliance with them and cannot afford to upset it."
"Alternatively, you may continue operating out of Omicron Minor, and begin patrolling the Tohoku system in vicinity of Tekagi's Arch. Be extremely careful not to cause any issues with the Blood Dragons in that area, however - we cannot risk anything upsetting our newfound alliance with them. Assist them if they ask, and do not dock on their bases."
"I trust those will keep you occupied for now, while we try to get the 'bigger picture' more organized for the fleets. Admiral Staite out."
I have responded to the Order Roster and have stationed myself in Omega 3.
I require a little more information regarding my assignment however
Can I expect assistance from other Order pilots?
Is my mission seek and destroy?
Am I to avoid contact with non Order pilots in the systems?
Am I to avoid conflict with misguided humans at all costs?
Are there credit incentives for eliminating larger threats such as gunboats?
Can I request a transport take any nomad tech I acquire back to Omicron Minor or am I to destroy it?
I will continue to patrol the surrounding systems for Nomads and other threats until I hear from you again.
"To answer your questions... You will likely not have assistance from other Order pilots, though if others wish to help you out you're free to bring them along. Your mission is not necessarily seek and destroy, but rather to secure the area against wilde threats. If the Wilde show themselves, then you can hunt them down, but really we're looking to stop the attacks, even if that just means maintaining a presence there. Whether or not you avoid contact with non-Order pilots in those systems is up to your discretion, but be warned that we are still considered a threat by many organizations and corporations within Sirius, do not trust others too easily; you'd do well to remain hidden."
"Misguided Humans, as you refer to them, are not really a concern. We exist to preserve human life, not to interfere with it - only destroy non-Wilde vessels in self defense, and attempt to flee or dissuade the opponent before resorting to lethal force. There are no credit incentives, we're poorly funded as is and cannot afford to dish out credits over your decided salary just because you're doing the job you signed up to do. Order pilots are not in this for the money, you should have learned that by now."
"As for transporting back alien materials or technology... I wouldnt trust any random transport to do the job. The Order Science Division has our own transport craft that can rendevous with you in the Omegas to bring those materials back to Toledo. If you find cargo space lacking and no OSD ships available, the recommended course of action is to destroy any of those materials you come across."
