I am Franz Maister, responsible for archaeological excavations in space and on planets surface.
For many years my coulleagues and I have been trying to unlock one of the greatest historical mysteries; location of the final resting place of Von Rohes ship. After many setbacks and difficulties we have finally manidged to establish the most likely location in Omega 11.
Planet Deidus. Located far from the Red Giant and with comfortable temperatures.
Information on the planet:
Location 6D, Omega-11 Certain dilemas about the true location arise, this is most probably just a mistake.
Terrain Desert
Diameter 8,972 km
Mass 4.78 x 10e24 kg
Temperature -70C to 50C
Escape velocity 9.75 km/sec
Despite possessing a thin atmosphere, this planetoid is rendered uninhabitable by the choking, acrid dust that covers its surface -- in some places to a depth of several kilometers. All survey probes have either been swallowed by the dust oceans or ceased functioning shortly after planetfall, presumably due to the nearly microscopic dust particles working their way into the delicate electronics.
This planet seemingly offers slight protection from the lethal radiation and is tempting target to land, for any damadged ship, that has no information about the dust.
We belive, that Von Rohes expedition crashlanded on this dusty world, persuming that they will find some protection from the vacuum and dangers of space, alloving them time to repair their ship. Ofcourse this didn't happen because of the dust that swalowed their ship.
There is only one way to test this hypothesis and that is to go there by ourselves with a small fleet of research vessels and supporting ships. Ofcourse we will need many intellectual minds and even more credits.
So, we are now inviting you to join the preparations for our expedtion by simply sending back a transmission, that contains your agreement.
Later on, we plan to reqest aditional founds from the gowernment, if we gather sufficent number of scientists and ships.
