Oke so I have been walking with this in my head for a while now,
Trying to think of this to make is possible as an event.
Parties involved: (*Groups can be changed depending on what region this raid will happen)
- Liberty rogues
- Lane hackers
- 1 transport corp or OSC.
- Police
- Navy
Scenario could be as followed:
A convoy of several ships will enter California* it's an highly secured convoy. Because of the risks involved the alert is high. Although the rogues have asked the Hackers to set up the perfect trap by hacking into the lane system and gathering data from the convoy. The profit that could be shaken out of this would be more then enough for both the pirate groups, that is if they are succesful.
The convoy gets intercepted, Rogues will take care of the escorts and will out number them. Hackers will move in to disable the transports. If the escorts get destoyed the transports will be boarded and moved from the lanes. Now the Pirates have the upper hand and make their demand.
The shipping company now stands for 2 options. Contact the SWAT or LN and try to recover the transports with the danger losing them together with the crew. Or they meet the heavy demand for these goods.
If they choose to make a counter attack they will be outnumber the pirates now. The thing is the pirates are no where to be found and to re- capture the transport the'll need to waste time on searching for them and might even waste their chance of a seprise attack if the scouts get located to quickly.
So it will all depend on timing and having the better tactics
(*This might still be change and discussed)
Rules:
- When you are killed you will not re- enage in the fight untill given premission by the referee, (Someone will be watching both sides moves)
- Transport may not be shot at the hull or destroyed.
- Transport shield down means it's disabled.
...
Number of people:
4 hackers
8 LR's
4 LN
4 LPI (or SWAT, depending on whats the situation)
4 Corporation vessels.
(2 referees)
Some other things that my be useful:
When the pirates have the transports captured they won't be able re- feul or re-arm their ships.
So all transport will carry ammo for a lot of kind weapons. Only when the transports are at the safe locations where the pirated brought them to they are allowed to re-stock all ships.
Boarding the ships...
I thought about 1 gunship or P-tans or train.
They will drop a assault crew inside the transport and capture the bridge.
The transport shield needs to be downed. When it's down the transport is not allowed to move anymore.
Untill the Gunships gives the clear they cleaned the bridge and have control over the ships.
the Demand...
It will be cash. Since the goods are valuable it's a lot. Although an RP demand so not a real one which means no need for cash transferes. The pirates might also if the corporation doesn't comply quick enough transfere the goods in P-trans and move the goods to an totaly new location a new system or something.
The normal transport of the corporations will be left behind and left to be found by the search parties.

Still this is an idea of an event that can be discussed.
Every one can make suggestions and say his things he finds that needs change and or is perfect in his point of view. Although please give a good reason of why you think the way you think about it.
<strike>Since I'm in no faction at all,</strike>(In the BHG now) I would apperciate opinions about this 'Raid'
I'd be down. Speaking for LR. California would be perfect for us. Or I have a Bowex Shetland that could act as a transport, whatever works. Sounds like a fun idea, SeaFalcon.
All right, Hackers are up for it. You'll need to set a date on some weekend at least a week before so we can know for sure which 4 people will be able to come.
Also as this involves many groups, after Idea is brushed a bit, I suggest you set up skype group with representative for every group where things can be arranged.
Event looks nice. But there is no info about number of escorts. I mean 4 corp. vessels are the transports, right? You should add number of escorts too.
' Wrote:Sorry, this whole post sounds like a blatant attempt to provide an excuse to PvP without any real role-play to back it up.

Depends on how many people sign up. (Like the idea and want to join)
