never seen you people... I personally thought before talking to a CR guy that BSG was BSG and CR were Cylons >>....
Now, I am just a bit annoyed that there are two BSG faction: One faction that is from outside freelancer universe is already something - do we really need two - even if you have diferent story, etc, it comes down to: you were from BSG tv serie.
i dont have much suggestion since i barely meet any of you guys... and I agree less or more with unselie's statement.
Thank you all for wonderful criticism.
That is the way one thread should go, and not flame flame flame.
Unselie, fair enough, we will be IMG for your faction.
Looking forward to all new critiques, suggestions and problems with BSG.

I was under the impression that the current BSG were the old BSG that didn't feel like getting a name change and all that crap, and that CR is the current 'BSG'
Of course don't take MY word for it.
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs

There're lost of examples of vanila factions, acting out of their RP and jurisdiction. Some got their own ID in the end, others have RP stories to cover their "liberties" with their ID. So do we...We're NOT IMG.
EDIT: If people would be forced to role play only within original vanila freelancer boundaries, it would be somewhat dictatorship like, and pretty much boring in the end. Imagination and new ideas should be welcomed if properly introduced. Thats IMHO anyway...
You'll find AW does not act out of their RP or jurisdiction
Anyway, the difference between AW/Phantoms/SCRA (The three with their own ID) and the BSG, is that we built an RP for our factions from scratch, and integrated it with and from Freelancer. Phantoms are 'enlightened' soldiers of the C'tan that live in the outer-reaches of this galaxy (Think unknown regions in Star Wars). They're interested in converting or killing everyone in Sirius.
AW is soldiers (mostly Outcast, Zoner, and a few random people, who were more interested in defending Sirius and/or Theta/FP9) that are led by one alien, Val'ren (and before his father, Luciaden. So Val'ren is sort of a cross-breed). He also came from the outer-reaches of Sirius, and his entire race was killed by the C'tan. Luciaden had been captured by them, escaped, fled, found himself in Sirius. Made his way to Freeport 9 eventually. Creates an organization to fight C'tan if they ever come here, and to defend the Zoners, whom he lived with since his arrival here.
SCRA are the remains of the Coalition in Starlancer/Starting screen. They came here shortly before Sol was destroyed. Now they are after all the houses, to kill them and conquer them.
BSG.. BSG is ripped from a TV show, has nothing to do with FL. The only reason you are still here is because BSG/CR had been a faction before our server required better RP for factions, and because we have the Viper and Battlestar. BSG has absolutely nothing to do with Freelancer. Your here to make an empire for the Colonials.. Theres nothing more to your RP than that. Also, your using an ID that prohibits you from fighting except in self-defense. Heck, if people wanted to, you could have been find, and by now, banned permanently, for violating your ID. Change it. Your not IMG, your BSG. Go generic military.
CR is acting much more IMG now, not being pvp-whorish (which you BSG are..), not allying themselves with Corsairs, and are actually dealing with IMG issues, like the Kusari and Bretonian war.
Also, on the matter of the Corsairs. You allying them is complete bullcrap. Yes, your both enemies of Outcasts, so your NPC affiliations aren't hostile to each other.. They are not ALLIED however. Your still lawfuls, they're still pirates. Your going to be unfriendly, NOT allied. There is no chance that IMG would ever ally the Corsairs. Basically, if they saw each other, they'd simply leave each other alone. Also, Kusari would never be alright with that alliance, they'd basically declare IMG an enemy, or completely neutral and let BMM and BAF kill you.
The alliance has no RP behind it, its simply there for you to pvp whore more easily, as you can get backup, and so you can attack Alpha with Corsair help.
I'm not flaming, I'm just saying what has most people pissed off about BSG for, and how people see you now. When people see BSG, they see a lack of Role Play.
Are we pvp-whorish because AW gunboat comes to Taus, attacks our Ensgin (who btw was like "WTF? Zoners attacking us???"), we come and kill it?
Give me one example of BSG's PVP whoring.
What would you say if i said that AW are Capship whores?
Is that good RP? Yes, it is from scratch, but i don't see capital ships only as a good RP.
Only thing less then a GB that i have seen with AW ID were 2 bombers.
One of them was RM bomber armed with Tizonas (while AW were in war with TBH).
Is that good RP? I mean, it is from scratch.
Or AW allying with Outcasts? Yup.
Anyway, this thread isn't about AW RP. It is about BSG's.
I appreciate your comments, but i would like to see some arguments, not just pure talk.
Give me one example of BSG's pvp whoring.
We can attack Alpha alongside Corsairs even if they are neutral.
We just won't be able to group with them.
Also, i have already said that CR isn't the subject of this thread.
Thank you.

this asks for my explanation...
old BSG was led by Warhammer. Some of older members (namely me and Yngen) didn't agree with faction ship choice, weapons list, fleet size and numbers of capital ships. and constant pvp. Also we wanted to improve our RP cause we felt it came to dead end. So we made our members to chose to go our way or old BSG way. That made Warhammer very mad (he was insulted by the way it has been done) so he left entirely, as few other members.
Our older players stood by Yngen (he is a leader now) although they also didn't like the change, while almost every new recruit remained in BSG.
Effective immediately we began restructuring our fleet and goals. Reviewed our hostile and allied list. We sold all our capital ships apart from one Bstar, we don't use any cruisers or bombers and have fleet of 6 gunboats.
We do attack Alpha and outcasts, but maybe twice a month...most of our fighting is in Taus, and on rare occasions. We do search and destroy Cylons since it is our RP and we hunt them in every system we get info they are hiding. Most of the times it is in cooperation with local factions.
BSG on the other hand, with loss of their leader actually role played their way out of this very well. They don't use capital ship, which was our idea at start and raised most troubles on our forums. They are rouge viper squad who respects CR leadership but don't always follow us. Recently our traders showed them few trade routes so they improve on that aspect too...we wear IMG tags and ID on all our ships. IMG ID was my advice since IMG are independent, have shipbuilders, live in distant and mostly hostile unpopulated areas (that agrees with our search for home), but they are also rich enough to maintain a mid sized fleet, powerful enough to strike back enemies, and neutral enough compared to rest of the factions. Its next best thing to zoner ID. In Tau 44 Minato Harbor was imagined to be called Freeport when we designed system. But due to rules Igiss made we renamed it to Harbor(as somewhat synonym to port)
If people even tries to give a chance to both our factions to role play our game they would see that there is more that beats the eye.
chopper i know CR inst theme of this thread but i needed to explain how we broke apart, and explain origins of our ID and role play, also to show few things that are different between us...since all that happened before your time in BSG.
EDIT: @ chopper....i meant ID selection and system planing...

Actually, i am glad you did that.
It seems people are not really familiarized with the story, so it is welcome.
It didn't happen before my time, it happened during my time in BSG;)
Anyway, we have also changed a lot compared to the old BSG.
We have changed our diplomacy list, we ditched capital ships, we started RP-ing on a totally different grounds then before.
Yes, the name remains, but that doesn't mean we are still the same.
It just shows where our origins are.

See, this is what happens when you take a 6 month break, and come back. Ive been here for a while again and I am STILL not totally up to date on what happened when I was gone. Thanks for clearing that up.

Right, I don't think the gripe here is about the RP, you may have great RP.
I don't want to participate with your RP.
It isn't freelancer RP, and whenever I see the BSG/CR, I have to think up a very long backstory that fits their ships, world, and the 13 colonies into my worldview for freelancer. It means all my characters who interact with the BSG/CR have to believe, ether that the BSG/CR are crazy, or that there are other people, and an empire of machines, somewhere else in the galaxy. Thats a model of the Freelancer universe that I HATE. It takes a whole lot of effort to rationalize the 13 colonies, and, to be honest, it doesn't really work. I'm sorry, You People really do seem to enjoy your 13 colonies RP, but it doesn't work here, nor should it be allowed: If a faction cant start today, and have 13 colonies RP, why can an official faction maintain its 13 colonies RP? Double standard.
