Greetings miners and fighters alike,
While some of you may remember me, I have no doubt that these 'Reilly' folks don't.
I once was among the High Command of the Molly Republic, serving the Molly people under the leadership of Colin Breen.
Unfortunately, when Breen left the Republic fell apart. Arising from it came the clans, disunited but ultimately free.
Things have since moved on, leaving the Mollys striving for a single unifying leadership once again.
While I think this is a good move for all Mollys, to come together and be strong together - I do not think that this new leadership is doing a good job at ensuring the future of the Molly people, or their cause.
To start with:
These Reilly brothers. They should stay in whatever hole they came from.
The Mollys cannot win through sheer force of arms.
We haven't won yet through it and we are rather severely outnumbered and outgunned in that regard.
We will never manage to forcefully remove Bretonia from Dublin, there is a reason we haven't managed to already.
If you can't figure out that reason then no doubt you are so brainless that you will soon forget to re-fuel your ship and eventually drift off into outer space.
For the sake of full disclosure though, let me elaborate.
The Mollys mine gold.
This gold is mostly useless unless we sell it.
No Bretonian, or lawful market in general, will accept gold being sold by a Molly.
So how is this gold sold?
How has the Molly economy, almost entirely based upon gold, managed to surive, or even grow as it has?
Our trade partners and friends.
The IMG are both.
They too are independent miners who strive for independence from the dominance of Houses. While we struggle to free Dublin, they struggle to keep BMM's dirty hands away from their homes in the Taus.
One important difference is their status legally. The IMG can freely trade with Bretonian markets, selling and buying goods just like any lawful party.
The IMG have been purchasing Molly gold for decades now, selling it on to the Bretonian and other markets.
The sheer amount of Molly gold that the IMG purchase is staggering, considering how we treat them at times.
There is one other group which we trade our gold with, the Junkers.
While they too sit on the dodgier side of the law, they are not like Mollys.
They have not struggled to free their homes from oppression, nor have they watched thousands of their brethren be slaughtered by the Bretonian government, simply for wishing to be independent.
They trade our gold and they trade us supplies but they are not our friends.
The Junker's reputation extends throughout all of them and their dealings with the Mollys are no exception.
Whilst the IMG might offer the Mollys a fair price for their gold, the Junkers wish to extract every inch of profit that they can from us. They also buy from and supply our other great enemy, the Corsair barbarians.
Yet with this knowledge, the new Molly leadership has thrown the IMG's negotiated deal out the window, attacked their miners and seemingly intends on forcing the IMG out of Dublin entirely.
How could such a thing be good for the Molly cause?
Removing the IMG removes not only a friend who supplies our bases, offers sanctuary and is our cultural brethren but also removes 50% of our gold market!
If we simply throw away the IMG, all our gold must go through the Junkers.
How do you expect this wonderful, upstanding group to respond in such a situation?
Of course they will slash the prices they pay for our gold, demand far less Molly favourable deals and increase the price of supplies to our bases!
Instead of strengthening the Molly economy, and cause, we are throwing out a valuable trading partner and friend in favour of a bunch of money hoarding dogs who will destroy our miners and cripple our economy!
We're attacking our friends and trusting our entire economy, if not the entire cause, on the good will and generosity of the Junkers.
Is this what the Mollys have become?
Is this what our founding fathers wanted on that fateful day?

Finally a molly with a good head on his shoulders!
Where were you at the talks today? We could've used someone with reason.
Anyway keeping my message short i would love to see the cooperation return and so does every =MMC= lad and sensible molly miner i think.
But as it stands i doubt anything will happen as the Reily's and [M] seem to not be interested in anything.
So rest assured not all us mollys have become that way only the most vocal ones.

Mr. McCormack,
Sadly the situation has devolved to a point where tempers run too hot. It is clear to me the Mollies themselves are divided on their stance towards the Guild. Some seem to see us as little more then BMM is. Some see us as comerades still. The Guild and some of the Mollies have come to blows, and it is clear that, at least in the near future, this won't be able to be resolved. It is regrettable we've lost the respect of whom I personally consider fellow miners.
The Guild is scaling back it's operations in Dublin. It'll take some time to move most equipment out. Some might choose to stay, I cannot say... We're not like BMM, able to order our Guildmembers around, and won't become that either. But those that do stay will be aware of the risk involved.
Hood will remain, since it has no engines by which it can traverse the jumpgates, or holes, safely. But I reckon the racetrack will be it's main interest for the coming months. With the Guild gone and unable to offer transports using Hood safe passage, and the Armed Forces more interested in securing the BMM operations, I doubt many traders will come to Hood anymore. Still, Molly mining vessels and transports who wish to use Hood as a meeting ground to sell their gold, can do so. There was some confusion in the Guild's ranks about this, but that has been remedied.
I hope that in time, the Guild and the Mollies can come to respect eachother again. With us out of the picture, at least your guns will be able to target the laughing third again: The BMM, and their Armed Forces guards.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders, on behalf of the Independent Miners Guild
