Everyone saying that Bounty Hunters only take bounties on individuals is pissing me off. Most Houses probably have contracts with the guild that they will pay for any pirate and/or terrorist that the Bounty hunters terminate or capture in their jurisdiction. It makes no sense for the houses and corporations to put bounties on just a few individuals; they don't have the time or resources to track all of those unlawfuls and prioritize them constantly.
Bounty Hunters are NOT just in it for the money. MERCENARIES are the ones in it just for the money. Bounty Hunters kill their enemies to survive and complete contracts.
leaves the question - if BHGs really only do individual bounties ( - there are not many ) ... and are not allowed to stop and "lawfully" rob smugglers. - whats left for them?
its a faction that is pointless. the NPCs remain, but they are policing - which BHG players are not allowed it appears. when i have to rely on bounties, - then i really have to compete with other BHGs - cause there is like 1 bounty for 20 BHGs once in a while.
but i am glad to hear opinions about BHG roleplay from the leading factions...
liberty: discusses to blow independent mercs / bhgs up, especially those in warships of course - but they don t offer contracts against liberty criminals anymore.
rheinland: i was offered one single bounty on a person i never ever seen online. - pirates are not payed for, official bounties do not exist
kusari: the KNF was the last faction that posted a long term official bounty contract against kusari villains - but then, BHGs are unwelcome in kusari - and the rewards for the villains were miniscule.
bretonia: i was told they offer individual contracts - but they do not have a permanent or long term contract.
there is no house left that enables the "roleplay on individual bounty bases" anymore. furthermore, BHGs are looked upon suspiciously. - BHGs cannot go to gamma or alpha and do what the NPCs do, they cannot intercept smugglers like the NPCs do - so, please, what can BHGs do? one of the largest and most powerful NPC factions in sirius?
so, why is it that BHG players are not allowed to do what the NPCs do - scan for contraband and blow them up if they don t drop it - i posted it in an older threat, and people said it was what they expected - BHGs to be lawful pirates.. now i am told, they are not allowed.
Dopamino, then these bounty hunters should contact these House Militaries/Police and request that they be paid for their services. Like how the Mandalorians often help out Liberty and Bretonia, BHG members can have similar relationships. They have a contract with them. Independent BH are no different.
But, BH should not be policing/demanding taxes on cargo unless authorized or paid to do so. They don't have the time to do these things.

@ela - i asked in the employment forum if i was able to get a permanent or long term contract with a house .... no answer. and i was told " join the house faction "- thats what you get when you ask for a long term contract on a RP basis.
edit: no, i had a reply, by another independent. - but none of the "official, primal, important, ruling" factions replied a word.
here is the link: it was written in december ..... http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9900 .... and you see how many people replied to this, and i don t think its an unreasonable offer for a BHGs service.
Perhaps the house militaries (RM, QCO, SA, KNF) should offer small bounties (like 10k per kill) to Bounty Hunters and mercs who kill that house's enemies (live players only, of course). The killers can submit their kills on the forums and collect their rewards in-game. That way the roleplay will be more accurate for everyone.
I think the whole concept of bounty hunters in FL is flawed. AFAIK, in reality bounty hunting can be quite illegal even if you're going after criminals. The only way I can see BHG working like police in every house system is if every house has contracts with them to help get rid of criminals. Which is odd because they already have police to do that. Essentially that would make them more like private investigators or something. It's strange.
Even stranger is that the BHG is a large, organized group, with its own sort of military which is at war with the Order. Usually one thinks of a bounty hunter as an independent, getting contracts from either a specific police listing, or other individual clients. Freelancer's BHG is like an organized lawful mercenary group, which apparently has been in contract with all the houses for taking care of criminals.
I honestly think the mercenary ID is more fit to carry the title of bounty hunter in most cases. But that's just me. Since I play a mercenary if the BHG demands I drop my cargo I usually don't comply, they aren't the police. Especially if they're pirate pilots, they're basically telling me to drop my bounty so they can collect on it.
The major problem with being a bounty hunter is that the best bounties are on the other side of the fence, i.e. ones we can't take, only the KoF offer bounties that are worth the risk of taking, and these are sorely contested, as Jinx mentioned about 20 bhg to one contract, we need to see more bounties and more work being offered to the BHG, it'd be nice if we could actually do the roles assigned to us by the game, i.e. hunt criminals that the house police don't have the time to hunt themselves. It's either that or the BHG players do missions all the time, I see that idea getting rid of lots of BHG players, except for the ones that run around in capships being police anyway.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.

There is a bounty on all pirates killed in Kusari space!!!!!
And it has been bumped a few times... yet NOBODY COLLECTED ANY KILL YET!
Sorry for the caps.. but I just had to...
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Sadly, I can't collect a prize, as I'm Hogosha, not a merc.
There are only few mercenaries in Kusari.
Well, I guess since Sukiyaki is ditched from NY, he'll be living in NT for a while.

Which then gives those independent cap spamming Bounty Hunters even more reason to go around blowing up stuff up like its going out of fashion.
I could see maybe the more trusted BH's being on a full time contract with the Houses but leaving something like that wide open for every n00b BH in a battleship/battlecruiser would just add to the independent problem we have right now, and a big part of them are BH's.
So get BH's to apply and if they are trustworthy then they get a contract if not they don't.
