The Lithuania, part of the Sirius Coalition's fleet drifted in the Leeds system, disabled after her last engagement. It did not end very well as the ship had been swarmed by multiple fighters while his comrades abandoned her to her doom. Most of the crew onboard had died when the engines overloaded, it would take awhile before she would be combat-worthy once the Coalition dragged her back to Omega-52.
The bridge of the Lithuania was a disaster area, as the Captain of the Lithuania sat in the command chair, looking around him with weary eyes he noted the damage and deaths of the bridge crew. Lt.Commander Nagama, his first officer, had taken a large piece of shrapnel to the heart, blood staining most of the front of the Kusari man's uniform, Ben was thankful his friend had died instantly in the blast that sent it into his heart.
The Helmsman, a young lieutenant from Rheinland was slumped in his chair, his console had exploded from the overload, small fragments of metal and other materials were embedded in the left side of his face, he had been giving a report to the Captain when it had happened, it was sad that he had to die young...He had always been spirited and zealous in his duties.
The remainder of the bridge crew had suffered similarly, due to his position in the center of the room, away from the consoles, he had been relatively untouched...It struck him as ironic, that he alone would remain, he had always survived somehow, in Liberty, Rheinland, the Omegas, the Taus. Wherever there was battle he always managed to survive somehow...
Yet he knew that the Coalition did not look kindly upon failures, he would likely be sent to the TOR-ONE for this catastrophic failure...His eyes hardened and gained a cold glint, he was the master of his destiny...He would not let a bunch of old men decide to send him to a prison for failure. Un-holstering his TT-33 Combat pistol he looked at it briefly, he had gotten this pistol not long after his entry into the Coalition...It seemed only fitting. Ben Warner sighed as he mentally prepared himself.
Moments later, outside the bridge one could hear a single shot ring out before everything went silent once more. The Lithuania drifted until a Coalition tug managed to retrieve her and drag her back to Omega-52, once they boarded the ship they evacuated any survivors and placed the dead in body bags until they could be identified and letters sent to their families. Ben Warner was not counted amongst the living.
