Dear Police Chiefs,
As some of you may have known i have been on medical leave since i took a laser bolt to the knee in a shoot out on Manhattan a few months ago. It was uncertain at the time the permanent damage it would do to my knee but now it seems apparent. it has caused severe damage to the knee cap and the socket joint. Attached to this document is a medical report from the doctor who has attended to my case. his named, by request has been withheld as is his right.
Quote:Patient: Jordan Clarkie
Profession: Liberty Police Officer
Age: 25
Injury: Laser Bolt To The Left Knee
Attending Doctor: WITHHELD AT REQUEST
----MEDICAL LOG BEGINS----
The patient, A Police officer for the LPI by the name of Jordan Clarkie. He Suffered a gunshot to the Knee cap, penetrating to the socket joint, at the time of the injury it wasn't apparent there would be permanent damage. but a few months later the damage is quiet visible, anything more than a fracture on that joint could cause the knee to be amputated from the knee down. i suggest the patient seek a, calmer line of work if he wants to keep the knee.
the damage to the socket joint is quiet extensive. at present the damage is impairing the movement of the left leg. with the pain medication i have prescribed the patient. he CANNOT fly combat in a heavy fighter craft. now lets add the ge-forces of a much faster and maneuverable light fighter, it could quite easily break on a turn exceeding 3-4 Gees. Now back to the medication i have prescribed, it slows the reflexes of the user and causes drowsiness two hours after taking, now add the adrenaline of combat flight and that time would be extended to 3 hours, at best.
I, *WITHHELD AT REQUEST* deem Officer Jordan Clarkie of the Liberty Police Incorporated, CANNOT fly in combat. Per my request as a certified medical practitioner, I have posed restrictions on the craft Mr. Clarkie can operate.

With this, I am resigning from the Liberty Police Inc. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. My Brother, a Freighter captain has offered me a position as XO of his freighter, nice quiet work cruising throughout space. I have also recently begun thinking of starting a family and i would dare not put any spouse through the trauma of loosing a father or husband. But i will continue to support the LPI in their work. Now about my position on the SWAT team. the craft is owned by me, but the weaponry is owned by the LPI, hence i will give any property back, but i must request i keep my uniform, rank insignia and side arm. Anyhow, i better get around to packing up the stuff in my office.
Jordan Clarkie,
Former Officer of Liberty Police Incorporated

It is a sad day to see so many fine Officers leaving the force, such as yourself.
The uniform and rank insignia you may keep, the sidearm you may not. Unless you buy it from the Liberty Police Inc. I stress that you cannot keep such an item.
The charge for one of those is 10.000 SC. If you choose to keep it I would like to find the correct cost on LPI-Rikers by Monday morning.
