Good evening Mr. and Ms. Doe,
I'm aware that in the past our respective organisations have had some disagreements, however I'd rather like to put that aside. Frankly, we're rather reliant on one another, and both have much the same interests at heart.
We have recently aquired a pair of rather unusual shieldbusters, along with a pair of plasma cannons, which are most definately not of Libertonian origin. They are of Gallic manufacture, and have proven to be of some interest to our own engineers during the preliminary work done on them.
As I'm sure you're aware, The Gallic Royal Navy's intentions regarding Liberty are far from peaceful. The plasma weaponry in question appears to have a projectile speed some 50m/s faster than our own Magma Hammers, while sacrificing a little by way of damage. This difference may seem marginal, however it makes a significant improvement in the volleys fired/volleys hit ratio.
We would like to hand these weapons over to DSE's research and develeopment teams for analysis, possibly finding methods of improving on the design currently being used by the Navy. Cooperation with Ageira's research teams, and information sharing may well be more than a little helpful in this endeavor.
Should you come into possession of any other Gallic technology we would be extremely interested in schematics, detailing the strengths and weaknessess, so we can better combat this new threat. Gallic technology evolved in isolation to that of Sirius, and there are a good number of extremely different design principles, particularly in propulsion systems. Any information you can glean would be well rewarded.
If you need a location to conduct this research on conjunction with the Navy and Ageira, we may be able to provide an extremely secure environment for testing, away form the prying eyes of the public.
It is in times that are difficult that a man can show his true worth.
And in my times I have found that even the proudest of us will fall.
It's how I pick myself back up is what will show what I am really made of.
My first goal is to repair broken bridges. And a good start is continuing our
development of the new engine core design we've had in the works for some
time now for the Liberty Navy. However we've developed something a bit more
recently, and that is some relations with an opposing party to the Royal Gallics.
They've in fact just recently leased Deep Space Engineering some Royalist craft
and we were going to begin some in-depth analysis on them, and looking to do
it with the intent to pass on the research to the Department of Defence.
This of course raised several concerns with security, both in company here
at Deep Space Engineering, and with open space in which to conduct field tests.
Deep Space Engineering have more then the required tools and equipment for
the task, albeit the absolute security needed to keep this below the board
and remain a Top Secret project. It's relieving to hear that the Navy may be
able to assist with this issue. The other concern is allowances to transport and/or
have mounted said weaponry on board Deep Space Engineering craft.
One possible solution I have thought of is that Deep Space Engineering establishes
a very specific research and development company into which our primary weapons
research is conducted under. This will be so it is able to establish our commercial and
industrial fleets from our experimental fleets. These will still be solely owned by Deep
Space Engineering whilst in prototype stages, until such time that it is agreed that
the final version is suitable for open field use, into which it then become property of
the Liberty Navy. This course of action is to render Deep Space Engineering responsible
for all foreign weapons and warships in prototype stages to undergo full research
analysis. In short, we can feel easy about breaking a few prototypes in testing.
We'd be very open to the prospect of inviting Ageira to take part in this project as well,
as well as the possibility of Detroit Munitions having a part in the development team.
Further more, your ranking officers get a close up view of potential adversaries and
how to recognise them in a far less hostile environment. No need to jump in the deep
end to see what's on the bottom when we'll take it out of the water out for you.
