The only ones smiling are the Cruise Engine repairmen at Barrier Gate, who have a steadily returning customer in you. Keep running, we'll keep chasing, and the repairmen will keep charging you, you Coward!
We will catch you and wipe that smile from your face.
Sincerely,
Navy Pilot
And there will be evidence posted here, so that the traders can see you for what you are: a chihuahua in a wolf suit.

As I sit here and chuckle at all this an idea just struck me. I'll go ahead and throw it out here since all of Sirius is watching. Who's interested in throwing some money into a pot to place a Merc-Net bounty on any ships bearing that silly little |J tag?
Crow, your bounty might seem amusing, but you obviously don't know the circumstances some of us face. Not all of us are rich enough to pay off someone and be done with it. Not all of us are willing to sacrifice the lives of our crew to be defiant. Not all of us can scrounge nearly a hundred million.
You don't get it, do you Crow? Some of us either pick that tag or die. While you may be willing to look into the jaws of death and say "frakk you to hell", some people don't want to see our crew, our friends, die. You may be willing to sacrifice them, but I am not.
You want that bounty? You think murder is right? If you think so, you're just another terrorist like The Joker. That's right, I'm accusing you of being like him if that bounty is made. Because you will be murdering innocent people who don't have the strength to fight back.
Think on that Crow, and think on this. Dropping down to his level, and commiting murder on those who had no other choice to protect the friends they serve with on thier ship?
Why not use the bounty in a way that people can remove such tags and move without fear. Either way, it seems those who are too poor to pay the fine, get to serve their sentence in hell.
And I thought you Junkers were better.

Well Mr. Storm, I have to admit that you are actually right about that. It is true that I get so caught up in the Joker's comedy routine, and I call it that because I see nothing to be taken seriously, that I forget we are actually dealing with real people. I don't like to see bad things happen to people either, especially when it's a poor working stiff trying to crank out a living. Been there, done that.
Ok, how about this then. To show how sincere I am I'll offer an alternative to anyone who might be tempted to take the mark of the beast upon themselves. Come fly with us instead. This is what we do. Everyone hates Junkers so we're quite used to dealing with crackpots like the Joker while we keep our ships flying all the while. If you are tired of this foolishness and you want an alternative to playing his silly little game then drop me a line. We'll show you how to play your own game.
As for your alternative, I'd jump at it, but unfortunately I don't know if you Junkers can support my vessel. The Memory isn't a small thing. I personally must decline.
To everyone else: Many of us try to scrap a living, and donning a tag to live another day is not cowardice, but us doing our best to be able to remain alive and free. Remember that when you see one, to think: Are they doing that because they are true supporters, or did they do that to save the lives of themselves, and thier crew? Freighters and transports are not maned by a single man, but many. Two symbols to a transponder to ensure dozens live? It is a price worth paying, for us who barely manage to pay for fuel.
"Freedom is not dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?" -Mahatma Ghandi.
I speak for over two dozen lives when I say, two symbols on a transponder is a bargain for all these lives. A price we are willing to pay to live.
Life is precious. Don't forget it. Don't forsake it. Don't waste it.
