It has come to our attention that there have been numerous acts of piracy within the Omega 3 system, mostly along its trade lanes between the Cambridge and Omega 7 jump gates. Our station's scanners have not detected the presence of many police ships within the system lately, which is understandable considering your nation's issues with the house of Gallia. Similarly, many of our own defense force ships are deployed to the other stations of our confederation for peacekeeping operations.
While our laws do not permit anyone to base off of our station other than ships with Zoner transponders, the current circumstances are such that I have been tasked by Ms. San Savage to authorize the following:
"Genine San Savage Wrote:Within the NFZ of Freeport 1, the Bretonia Police Authority may arrest a ship or ships actively engaged in an act or acts of piracy. This coincides with the prior agreement of what is known as the Omega Treaty between Rheinland, Bretonia, the IMG and Freeport One.
Please note, however, that as a neutral station, Freeport One houses embassy and consular staff of many groups, some of which may be deemed as hostile to the kingdom. We trust the BPA will not interfere with diplomatic missions and staff, nor the free trade zone which the station provides. Acts of piracy within the station perimeter, however, are violations of both Zoner and Bretonian law, and thus our authorization for your officers to act.
Ms Savage has also stated a willingness for the BPA to maintain a small clerical staff on board the station for ships to request and obtain necessary licenses and permits before entering main Bretonian space for the sake of visitor convenience. Police ships of course, would remain restricted to short term resupply or repair due to station neutrality and Zoner law.
To: Ashley Brookes. General Secretary, Freeport 1 Council
I must admit. I did not expect Omega- 3 to flare up. However be assured the BPA will divert the occasional patrol to Omega-3. Sadly because of the pressure on Bretonia the BPA is rather stretched. Nonetheless. I shall remind my officers of our duties in Omega-3.
As for the Freeport being a neutral station you have my word my officers will not interfere with diplomatic missions nor the Internal affairs of you're station
As for Ms Savages offer I think it would be a wise move. However. One thing at a time.
