I have been playing the SP campaign today since I can't play online very well.
I think that the Mod has made SP just far too hard.
For example, mission 7 (Destroy the Rhineland Fleet).
Until I learnt the cheat I lasted about 6 seconds. Taking on a BattleCruiser and 4 Gunboats in a crusader is REALLY far too hard.
And I am at the moment in Chugoku after just taking on Tekagi, and I have had to give up on finishing ANY of the missions, I simply can't do it. The other ships just tear me to pieces.
I'm not the greatest player in the world but I'm not a total moron either. I've done the SP campaign before and to be honest I thought it was a challange but nothing a couple of mission replays couldn't fix.
Is there any way to make the game a little easier for SP players?
To make the SP easyier you would have to edit the ships all over again, one recomendation is since your probably white or green with the outcasts, go to there home base in Omi Alpha, get a saber, out fit it as best as possible then go to the Omicron gamma Unknown and Re-outfit ur saber with the good stuff, hope this helps.....

I noticed that the difficulty is also quite alot higher due to the improved AI. Though I didn't have trouble with it I can see people who wouldn't stand a chance at it. Though the story missions aren't as hard as doing missions for the random jobs in bars. I think maybe we should disable the shield regeneration for the SP campaign but keep it for Multiplayer. Or have a voluntary update that takes away shield regeneration for people who have an interest in the campaign but aren't great flyers. I'm only at level 4 (right after mission 3) but the NPCs can still easily take down my shield. For example. I did a mission against Xenos from Manhatten and lost my shield 5 times and lost half my hull. Those of you who know me know that that is a hard thing to do especially for NPCs. After this weekend I should be at least to the Order missions and then can let you know the difficulty of the Nomads (which will probably HAVE to be changed for SP campaign).

Sam this isn't possible. They are level 27-29 (29 I think) which you don't reach until after the campaign. They aren't talkign just SP but the SP campaign. Now think of how hard nomads are right now against an Eagle or Ravenclaw now think 22 of them (mission in Alaska has 26) attacking you while you are in a Anubis. Yes maybe it has more agility than an Eagle or Ravenclaw but the nomads are light fighters. They turn better than any of the HFs or VHFs.
That's a complicated situation. SP campaign NPCs use same loadouts and AI as normal NPCs. Editing them will require me to make new loadouts somehow. And new weapons.

He's not nearly a high enough level when at Tegaki's base to be able to buy the Sabre.
I remember I had to edit my Hawk last time I tried that mission(Back when I first got Discovery) to have Sunslayers, a better generator, and Nomad weapons. ;)
By the way, wasn't the Anubis a Level 10 VHF? If so, why did you change it? And if it wasn't, why not make it a level 10 to make the story line easier once you get on the Osiris. Because once your on there you have either the ship your currently flying, or an anubis to fight with. And in THIS mod, that's hard.
Anubis has always been a level 7 (or 6?) and should remain that way. Also the nomads would be way too easy with a level 10 fighter.
What you have to remember in the hard missions is to do the objective and the objective only.
Tekagi's fortess. You are to fight for only 2 minutes (approximately) then fly into the base after blowing up the shield generators. Most people fight for 4 minutes and then try destroying the BS protecting the shield generators. The mission is easiest when you go straight for the shield generators and then dock.
Alaska mission: Once you leave the prison you fight nomads only until the cruiser kills the other battleships. Then you fly and dock the jump gate immediately. After your in NY you fly towards the exit immediately and see the Osiris destroy the other battleship, then you dock it.
In these ways you encounter the least resistance and have the least chance of death. Some people may do these the hard way if they are good enough. But I suggest following my suggestions unless you can beat the v1.0 at 2.00 difficulty.
Thats what the main problem is. I suggest just doing the missions that are 3 or so levels below you. (example: your level 15 do a level 12 or lower mission.)

Thats a good idea....I'll try that...
The problem is that I may need to get out of the system in order to get easier missions....
