It is with a heavy heart, and careful words that I approach you today. My brothers, my sisters...uncles, aunts. Nieces. Nephews. For much time, Bretonia and Liberty have shared a strong bond of friendship, but it has been far too long since Liberty has truly known the tragedies of war. We hear the lists from the front on Rheinland, and think of only numbers. No. These people were not numbers. Though I was only close to a few of them, I know that each and every one of them had a family. A family that received a transmission immediately after the accidents were confirmed. Though our search parties remain out, as several unidentified parts of the ship were detected in Leeds orbit, hope at this hour is dim. The Air Force has had longstanding tradition in the house of Liberty, of strength. Honor. Discipline. Integrity. This event, though it has temporarily setback our plans, will not go unpunished. A saboteur was identified in the attack, but, at this time, will not be identified.
Effective immediately, new recruitment standards are being implemented and former retired and separated members of the LAF are being recalled. Mostly, our Recruiters and former Drill Instructors. They will be reinstated and new incentives will be given to those candidates who wish to either enlist or put themselves up against the officer selection board. These deaths will not be in vein. The following actions will not be fuel for malice, however. Small, lethal strikes, like a surgeons knife, will cut the enemies heart.
They thought that by cutting off the Air Force's head, they destroyed the body.
The soul lives on. We will heal. We will come back. We will be stronger.
Harold Comstock
Air Force Chief of Staff Pro Tempore
