Annora twirls a pen in her hand as she looks to the camera, some forms visible on the desk before her.
[color=#00cc00]Hello, my friends. I have a small request to make of you.
She sets the pen on the desk and straightens up on her chair.
The Underloch has a need to expand, and in order to expand, we require resources. For the most part, we have been able to secure all we need. However, there is one vital piece of equipment that eludes us.
She remains quiet for a moment, evidently thinking of how to phrase her next sentence.
We require some nuclear devices. Not military or weapons-grade. They are absolutely essential for a particular task that we wish to embark on, and from what I have gathered, you are one of Sirius's primary suppliers in this regard.
We do not require very many. Thirty or sixty will be plenty. If you can supply these to us, then bring them to us and we will meet you and take them off your hands.
[font=Courier New]With her eyes focussed on the holo-records in front of her little laugh lines appear around her eyes. With a theatrical sigh she turns her chair towards the communicator and crossed her arms, still having that amused look on her face.
My my. Ich can't recall ever being contacted by your organization, perhaps in the vacuum of space, but those encounters just consisted of demanding tributes. But in all fairness, we all have a job to do.
But, here's my concern: your reputation. I have certain laws to follow and abide by, and breaking those would have dire consequences, in case I would get caught. So your going to have to come clear with me. I need to know what the deal is between ALG and the Underloch. How are you going to treat us after we supplied with what you need? What is exactly your doing? And the question I'm intrigued most about: why us?
She grabs a scotch from under her desk, fills herself a double and stores the bottle. Her face turned neutral.
I'm not denieing your request, but as said I do require answers. This is like quicksand to me, I do not wish to be in a public scandal, for me or for the company. You got this secure channel. Looking forward to your reply.
The feed flickers on to show Annora smiling broadly, her face lit up with amusement.
[color=#00cc00]I believe that with the importance of this deal, I can afford to come clean with you. It is bad business to withhold information from those you intend to work with, after all.
She opens up a folder and takes some photographs out of it, apparently locations in Bretonia, in deep space.
The nuclear devices will be used to power a supply depot we intend to construct for the Gaian Underloch. Of all the resources required of us, these devices are the only ones that we could not acquire for ourselves.
What this means for ALG will be twofold.
She flashes her smile again.
First of all, in return for your generosity, I can assure you that the Gaian Underloch will never trouble the ALG corporation. So long as respect is maintained, we will never attack you, nor will we demand cargo or credits from you. We can provide protection for your convoys moving through Bretonia, albeit indirectly; we will not be able to escort you, but we can monitor the trade lanes and scare off petty pirates.
Secondly, the depot is to be constructed in close proximity to one of the many waste products of Bretonia's rampant industrialization. I cannot currently disclose the location with you, but should it seem prudent to you, we will open up docking privileges on this depot for use by ALG's employees. We will outfit it with extended storage capacity, and your employees will be able to use it as a convenient drop-off, pickup and resupply point while you work within Bretonia.
I believe that our organizations are very similar in ideals. While you may work corporately for profit, and we do not, we are both striving to do the same thing: clean up the mess that has been made of the environment and ensure that further sullying of the Sirius sector's natural integrity does not occur. If you help us in this operation, then I can assure that the Underloch will do everything in its power to assist your corporation in its work. We wish to do what is right for Sirius.
Thanks for your swift and answering reply. It helped me to form a decision.
She stands up and starts pacing while the camera follows her.
We, or better said, I will help you. I've kept this between two others of the staff and we decided to let me take care of the transfer, as this is quite dangerous in case we would get spotted. Unfortunatly I got to keep this quiet at ALG, wouldn't want this kind of information leaking out. However, we see the potential that we could do a lot to aid the wasted space and/or bases. Which of course remains my primary concern.
I assume you will notify every Gaian about this agreement then? I will explain the employees here at ALG about our new understanding between the two of us and the deal. I will instruct my pilots to stay respectfull towards the Gaians but I will tell them not to get involved. If you see the liberty to scout ahead and warn our employees through secure channels we will absolutely welcome that, but only those who received permission to "do business", will be allowed to dock on said base.
She sits down and lights up a cigarette, throwing her hair back she relaxes.
I think that would be it. Perhaps there is the matter of payment. You told me you needed around thirty to sixty nuclear devices. Not military or weapons-grade class. How about 7,500,000 million Sirius credits? That would cover up the costs for the fuel and the administration I got to do. If you do agree, wire the sum to [ALG]-Bank. I will take care of the rest and contact you through the S.K.Y.P.3. protocol when to meet for the delivery.
I'm hoping to hear from you again. You strike me as the sort of daughter I never had. Too bad your not in the "regular" world, you would probably fit in fine with us. If you do ever get bored or willing to change life, contact me and we'll see what we can do.
