    Areas of Interest

    Nebulae

    Seine Nebula

A beautiful blue nebula which is complicated to navigate due to the presence of numerous ice asteroids within its boundaries. Unione Corse frequent the field.

    Asteroid Fields

    Marne Debris Ring

This debris ring was formed from the centuries-long negligence of both Planet Marne and Chalons-en-Champagne Station who had no concern about space-littering. While the planet favoured their scrap to be afloat in space rather than laying on the surface, Chalons would discard material deemed unsalvageable in close proximity as well. Today, Marne is encircled by the very same debris, shaped and accumilated due to the planet's gravitational well. Tentative debates regarding a clean-up operation have been advertised by Marne's government, but no action has been taken as of yet.

    Aube Asteroid Field

Like other fields within Champagne, Aube is overmined and void of any value. It it worth noting that the overmining of Aube was not without consequences. The depletion of resources in the field created an environment where criminal activity could flourish, as desperate individuals turned to illegal means to profit from the remaining resources in Champagne as mining jobs quickly vanished. The field became a hotbed of criminal activity for Brigands and even more dangerous elements of Gallic society.

    Ardennes Asteroid Field

Ardennes is the last remaining minable field within Champagne, and its significance is not lost on the once mighty industrial system. Mining is conducted at a snails pace in order for the highest premium to be applied, so that the industrial importance of Champagne can be extended as far as possible. The resource starved core Gallic systems often complain that they are being spoon fed much needed minerals, and in return charge ever higher prices for food going back. This tension between core and borderworld systems, as well as the republican history of Marne and nearby systems, makes for an economically and politically divided house.

    Aisne Asteroid Field

Aisne, which was once a significant source of spaceborne resources, has now become a shadow of its former self due to centuries of overmining. All resources have been depleted from this field, leaving only one major field within the Champagne system. The current state of the field serves as a poignant reminder that Gallia no longer has the vast resource reserves it once had and must now compete with Kusari and Bretonia in Tau to maintain its economic independence.

    Wrecks

    Fortune - D-7

Fortune was once a Gallic Royal Navy gunboat that participated in a counter-assault by the Navy against the Council in 720 AGS. After the GRN ships had breached the Lorraine jump gate defenses in Champagne, they headed towards Marne, where they were ambushed by superior enemy forces. Fortune was one of the few ships that escaped the encirclement, was chased by the Unione Corse fighters, and finally escaped to the Ardennes Asteroid Field - only to be trapped in a remote location of the asteroid field.

    Contains:

    Annibal - C/B-1

Annibal was once a reconnaissance ship of the Gallic Royal Navy dispatched to the remote regions of Champagne system in order to monitor hostile activity away from populated regions of the system. The ship was detected by a large group of Unione Corse ships in the end of 730 AGS and attempted to escape. Attempt failed.

    Contains:

    Railleuse - F/G-6/7

A Council light fighter that was recently lost after its patrol was attacked by an unidentified enemy. Ship hull remained on the outskirts of the Ardennes Asteroid Field.

    Contains:

    Danube - A-4

In 718 AGS, the Danube was tasked to carry EMP missiles to the Council warships fighting the Navy not far from the Reims Station. Soon after the ship launched from Montelimar, one of the missiles exploded within the ship hull, causing other missiles to explode as well in a chain reaction. All systems of the ship were disabled, and it flew uncontrollably somewhere towards the edge of the Aube Asteroid Field. The ship was never found, and later investigations showed that the crew and ship itself had been completely unprepared to carrying armaments, lacking even the simpliest protection against internal explosions and other accidents.

    Contains:

    Lezard - G-7/8

Lezard was a Gallic Brigands heavy fighter that was escorting a Unione Corse freighter to the Joinville Base. After completing the escort duty, the pilot whose name was Emile Bartoli remained on the base, and later disappeared along with its ship. The hull may remain somewhere in the Ardeenes Asteroid Field as a reminder of how unpredictable the Corse might be at times.

    Contains:

    Cameleon - D/E-2

Brigands' bomber named Camelion has participated in the "liberation" of the Champagne system from Royal Navy and Police presence. In 717 AGS it was damaged by gunboat fire and lost within the Aisne Asteroid Field. Fate of its pilot remains unknown.

    Contains:

    Driade - B-5

Driade was once a Gallic Brigands' freighter carrying goods between various unlawful installations located in the Border Worlds. It was never heard of since it left the Macon Base heading towards Epernay. Could be lost somewhere in Burgundy or Champagne.

    Contains:

    Council Heavy Fighter - F/E-5

A heavy fighter belonging to the Council that was disabled in a fight with the Gallic Navy or the Gallic Police. Fate of the pilot is unknown; ship hull is damaged beyond repair, but there is a chance that functioning equipment remains onboard.

    Contains:

    Council Heavy Fighter - E/D-6/5

A heavy fighter belonging to the Council that was disabled in a fight with the Gallic Navy or the Gallic Police. Fate of the pilot is unknown; ship hull is damaged beyond repair, but there is a chance that functioning equipment remains onboard.

    Contains:

    Council Light Fighter - F-2/1

A light fighter belonging to the Council that was disabled in a fight with the Gallic Navy or the Gallic Police. Fate of the pilot is unknown; ship hull is damaged beyond repair, but there is a chance that uncrippled equipment remains onboard.

    Contains:

    Council Light Fighter - D/C-4

A light fighter belonging to the Council that was disabled in a fight with the Gallic Navy or the Gallic Police. Fate of the pilot is unknown; ship hull is damaged beyond repair, but there is a chance that uncrippled equipment remains onboard.

    Contains:

    Council Bomber - G-2

bomber belonging to the Council that was disabled in a fight with the Gallic Navy or the Gallic Police. Fate of the pilot is unknown; ship hull is damaged beyond repair, but there is a chance that functioning equipment remains onboard.

    Contains:

    Royal Heavy Fighter - E/F-5

A heavy fighter of the Royal Navy that was recently disabled by the Council forces or by raiders belonging to one of the Gallic pirate factions. The ship is damaged beyond repair, but some equipment may remain onboard intact.

    Contains:

    Royal Heavy Fighter - B/C-4

A heavy fighter of the Royal Navy that was recently disabled by the Council forces or by raiders belonging to one of the Gallic pirate factions. The ship is damaged beyond repair, but some equipment may remain onboard intact.

    Contains:

Royal Very Heavy Fighter - A/B-1/2

A very heavy fighter of the Royal Navy that was recently disabled by the Council forces or by raiders belonging to one of the Gallic pirate factions. The ship is damaged beyond repair, but some equipment may remain onboard intact.

    Contains:
