The Wyvern is a sleek and modern departure from the aged arsenals peddled by Samura, marketed as an alternative to the lighter and potentially lacking Chimaera that still sees active service with the Naval Forces. Despite harsh criticism and pressures, Kishiro continued development of the prototype and managed to successfully land a contract for mass production and official adoption of the series. This was owed entirely to the fact that the ship boasted an array of electronic support systems and defenses otherwise unheard of by Kusari's fighter pilots.
The test flights themselves spoke volumes, and no critic could contest cold hard facts when push came to shove. Samura has likely not forgotten this slight, but Kishiro considers the success of the design a proud achievement nonetheless, perhaps more so on account of their competitor's chagrin.
