Where there are popular ships, there are popular modifications. Much like the original Lich, the R1 Ghoul started out as a custom job - this time of the Skeleton -, sacrificing maneuverability for improved survivability in the unpredictably harsh environments of the Edge Worlds. Eager to add further designs to their line-up, R1 quickly adopted the modifications and began manufacturing the Ghoul in-house, if only in limited numbers. Heavier armor, expanded armament options, and increased repair capabilities bring this ship more in line with its bigger brother, the R1 Wight. However, it maintains much of the agility, the small profile, and highly efficient power core of the design it is based on, the Skeleton.
