With the Coalition's need for natively built transport vessels becoming ever more apparent to the Supreme Council and Premier's Office, a special design bureau of shipwrights and political advisors was formed to begin work on the Coalition Transport Project.
The first design to pass the prototype stage and enter manufacturing, the Cyclone heavy transport takes cues from both a never built destroyer design and the proven Hurricane-class battle cruiser. Abiding by the government's directive to minimize material costs while maximizing ease of maintenance and modularity, the Cyclone is little more than two rows of pressurized cargo containers wrapped in several layers of thick but inexpensive steel plating. This simple but sturdy assembly is propelled by a pair of heavy-duty fusion engines recovered from decommissioned Typhoon-class destroyers.
With initial production runs proving themselves immensely capable at rapidly and reliably moving large bulks of goods across Coalition space, the Supreme Council expects the Cyclone to revolutionize the small nation's logistics and industry.
