A-BCPC-200 "Onager" Technocracy Battlecruiser Turret

The "Onager" was designed by Technocracy to serve as the primary battery on vessels in the Battlecruiser weight class. Its namesake was a small-sized catapult used as a more mobile siege engine. Its "hit-and-run" philosophy remains ingrained within the modern adaptation, taking advantage of the sophisticated focusing lens to propel a highly condensed bolt of energy along an acceleration rail, in order to deliver the highest possible damage output the weapon can produce. Much like its ancestor, the "Onager" loses its effectiveness against smaller and agile targets, yet remains a valuable tool in conflict with craft of equal or greater classification.
