Biography
Philomenus Thadeo Gumby sirs and madams, at yer service. Me background...hmm.. there's really not much to tell. Me Da was a Zoner trader hanging around in Freeport 4, me Ma was a Bretonian working for Gateway Shippin' on assignment to scout out new trade opportunities in the Border Worlds. They met at FP 4 and there I was born. I could have been a citizen of either Liberty or Bretonia but me Ma registered me in Sheffield Station so I'm Bretonian. I rattled around in FP4 for a couple of years until Da and Ma decided to leave FP4 for Erie. With funds running low they had to sell Da's trading ship once dirtside, and there we remained. Up until my 44th year I was in Erie teaching a small class about Old Earth literature when an old acquaintance a certain Zeraulo pricked my peaceful little bubble of a life by suggesting we hire ourselves out to the Cambridge College of Astrogation (CCA). He fast talked me out of atmo and out of me life savings, went to Cambridge, did some more fast talking and without further ado I found meself outfitted as a trader and him as a captain of a research vessel. It has been my thankless job to earn our living and repay the loan to CCA (not to mention the insurance, litigations, and benefits claims of the families of the scientists he was ingenious enough to...err...lose in an inspired survey of the Omega system). But I honestly enjoy this life of trading, seeing the sector, and seeing the creds roll in (something I'm keen to keep from Zera).
