Omicron Kappa System

Omicron Kappa is a system accessible through a Jump Hole in the Omicron Gamma system. The most notable features of this system are the planets Planet Gammu and Planet Primus, which are owned by the Artificial Intelligence Consensus and the Zoners respectively. This system is also filled with Nomads, as well as an ice field identical to that contained in Alaska. The star-scape is also notable, resembling an infinitely long tunnel.

The green star at the far northeast end of the system (far beyond the area shown on the map, but appearing in the far corner of it) casts a greenish light on the tunnel, but if one flies beyond it the tunnel is actually a multitude of hues. This sun is also the only known star aside from Medium Yellow Sun in Tau 37 that the player can fly into without being destroyed.

By an odd twist of fate, whilst the Omicron Kappa system lacks any notable wealth of resources or inherent strategic importance, the system plays host to not one, but five fully independent self-aware intelligent races; the sapient simians of Primus, the illusive Scorians, a smattering of humanity represented by the Zoners; and the illusive cyberace the Artificial Intelligence Consensus, that has claimed the system's space as it's own. Caution is advised whilst exploring here.

Areas of Interest

Central Radiation Zone An intense radiation belt which covers over seventy percent of the system including the twin planets Planet Gammu and Planet Primus, proving invisible to the neural net. Shielded craft should prove reasonably protected.

Nebulae

Asteroid Fields

Aegean asteroid cloud A large, disparate field of carbon ice asteroids that covers the majority of the system. The cloud appears to reflect sensor emissions and thus proves impossible to chart or neural net register, being of a near identical composition to the Alaskan nebulae. Due to the field's reflective qualities, the cloud apparently disappears to the naked eye if the observer travels beyond it's periphery.
