A dark and metal-rich world with a toxic atmosphere and active volcanism, Oberhof's most notable surface features are burning sulfur geysers spouting fountains of "blue lava." The planet's rocky landscapes are rich in deposits of various metals, which is why the planet is considered a potentially valuable industrial mining site in the far future. Recent discoveries in Thuringia currently prevent any construction projects on Oberhof. Abandoned research equipment on the surface indicates the Imperial Navy also realized Oberhof's economic potential, but did not possess the necessary technology to establish working infrastructure under such harsh environmental conditions.
