Icy world of Gammu was colonised by a group of deep space settlers several years after Primus, in 496 A.S. Few inhabitants of this inhospitable place did not know anything of radiation that plagued the planet's surface, much like on Primus. Of planet's 1400 initial population, more than a quarter was dead by 528 A.S. because of radiation. The colonists tried to evacuate the planet and almost succeeded, but fully loaded transports and escort ships were destroyed by a large Nomad fleet. Numerous service robots with enhanced artificial intelligence remained planetside and kept up two robotic plants constructed by the colonists. When Corsairs rediscovered the planet several hundred years later, the planet was filled with thousands of self-sufficient robots.

The planet has been the sole planetary home for the Exo-Sirian cyberrace the Artificial Intelligence Consensus for around seven centuries, residing in a sprawl of subterranean, pan-continental infrastructure rendered completely invisible from space. As of present, the only prominent terrestrial landmarks are the archaic docking rings and mooring fixtures, a few ex-Zoner landing pads, and a few rusting transponder towers, still broadcasting a long-gone Zoner IFF and planetary docking patten. Visitors are advised to be cautious.

The planet Gammu is extremely radioactive, due in part to the high concentration of rare earth's within the planet's crust, and the intense ravages of solar radiation projected by the system's twin neighbouring stars. Whilst visiting terrestrials should find relative safety within their own craft, long stays are considered both inadvisable and unwelcome, as is unexpected, unprempted contact with the alien isolationists who claim the planet as theirs. The planet exports little, being almost entirely drained of resources by the sentients that have developed it, and buying or tapping into the planet's ice-locked water reserves is considered hazardous due to the large concentration of irradiated particulates the ice contains. In short, the world is barely fit for human life.
