Background

Lucie LeBlanc is a high-ranking officer of the Gallic Royal Navy. Recently transferred directly into the Primary Fleet, Lucie is determined to make her mark on Gallic history and help lead her House to victory.

Early Life

Born in the city Courcemont on Planet Le Mans, Lucie grew up in a curious mixture of circumstances. Though born into a noble family, their home planet was as close to a frozen waste as Gallic civilization came. Though Lucie's family could easily afford to heat the mansion she grew up in all year round, the biting cold was never more than a few metres away. Lucie expressed an interest in joining the Royal Navy as early as the age of sixteen, having seen richly decorated and esteemed family friends at every gathering and party she was taken along to. Her father, Archimbault, supported the idea, thinking of the added esteem his daughter could bring to the family name. In addition, he was confident that he could get his daughter positioned directly as an officer due to her family's social status. And so, on the eve of her nineteenth birthday, Lucie boarded a liner bound for Planet New Paris, where she had been accepted into the renowned Champs-Elysees Academie Militaire.

Naval Career

Life at the academy proved harder than Lucie had been expecting. She found the warmer climate of New Paris very discomforting, and she did not endear herself to the rest of the aspirants at the academy. Her personality was as icy and harsh as her home planet, many said, and her short height was often the target of barbed comments. Nevertheless, the societal clout of the LeBlanc name pulled through, and after a few years with the rank and file Lucie was awarded both the rank of Capitaine and command over a small snubcraft wing assigned to the defense of Ile-de-France. The glory was minimal, the position merely a nominal one - she was just expected to keep up appearances and receive a long service award and pension at the end of her "career". It was exactly the opposite of what she had wanted. Lucie immediately filed a transfer request to her superiors, requesting reassignment to Languedoc, where The Council was waging war to liberate the system. Though the motion met with resistance, she eventually got her transfer, and in 731 A.G.S Capitaine Lucie LeBlanc personally joined the Second Gallic War.

Nobody had expected the sullen, young and inexperienced Capitaine to actually accomplish anything in a real warzone, so it came as a shock when Lucie and her wing were scoring consistent victories in skirmishes with anti-Royalist forces. It turned out that while she was as mediocre a pilot as everyone had assumed, Lucie had a flair for tactics that made her a formidable and ruthless leader of a fighter wing. Over the course of the war, Lucie was promoted several times within the Secondary Fleet, having proven as capable at commanding larger operations as she was with small-scale snubcraft skirmishes. Rumours that the burgeoning young commander had frequently ordered the destruction of vessels that had surrendered were quickly quashed, becoming minor blips on LeBlanc's journey up the ranks. The excellent results of her commanded operations spoke for themselves, drowning out the often questionable methods behind the outcomes.

Rumours or not, Lucie's position as a secondary fleet Colonel left her shielded from the turmoil that befell the Primary Fleet in early 736 A.G.S, and once the dust had settled she found herself as one of the suitable candidates to continue the leadership of the Royal Navy. Lucie was only too glad to accept the honour.
