Akabat is the sole moon of Planet Nebet, and is unusually large for a moon. It may have been a seperate planet at one time which has been caught by Nebets deep gravity well. Akabat has an erratic climate, as night and day are variable, depending on Akabat's position relative to both the sun and Nebet. Nebet also frequently eclipses the sun, which causes an occasional "long night".

Nevertheless, the planet is habitable, with modest flora focused around a few large rivers that flow from various mountain ranges. Akabat posesses a dry and cold atmosphere, precipitation only falls in the higher mountain ranges in the form of snow. The Order has established small settlements and outposts near the rivers to take advantage of the fresh water supply those offer. Many regions of the planet have not been explored yet as the Order was more concerned with establishing its defenses, after the devestation of Omicron Minor.

Virtually all of the Order's civilians and scientists reside on Akabat. It is estimated some 250.000 people reside on the surface.
