This hardened Zoner transport is used to traverse regions of the borderworlds where diplomacy often takes a back seat to the gun. Upgraded in the face of heightening galactic tensions, many of the vessel's industrial tools were exchanged for stronger armaments. With these new refinements in mind, the Zoners removed the gunboat from sale on the open market, reserving the limited numbers of the newly produced vessel for protection of their own convoys.

The Zoner Gunboat, being one of the most agile gunboats, its main weakness happens to be it's power core and armor. You'll either LOVE or HATE this ship. The power core is high enough to support sustained fire of 6 Basic Gunboat turrets, but does not get good results with 6 Zoner Gunboat Turrets. It's a good ship, although vulnerable from above. This ship suits its main role which is exploring and fighting off minor resistances. In other words, it does a Zoners Job pretty well. Although not completely capable of taking down a group of several ships, it's damn good at looking good. Don't let the stats change your mind. After it's overhaul with a new, more streamlined appearance. The Conference gunboat is a force to be reckoned with. Despite being primarily used by the Zoners, it is on par in head-to-head action against other gunboats. Two of the turret mounts on the underbelly of the ship can only fire in a 180 degree zone in front of the ship, while the four turrets on it's 'wings' as one might call them, have a full 360 degree area to look. The only downside of this ship, like many other gunboats, is being flanked. Only able to fire two guns upwards, this makes "death from above" apply perfectly to this gunboat. While all four guns on it's underside can fire down, save for the two that can not fire beyond their 180 arc. It's not the best gunboat, a tad sluggish, light gunboat sized power core, and it cant even support many of its own Zoner turrets without a massive power drain. But with two basic missile turrets and four basic gunboat turrets it can keep up a steady output. Switching to GMG gunboat turrets, allowable for Zoners without asking, is also doable as four of them drain per second the ships per second recharge. The main problem with this ship aside from power issues is that it is very easy to acquire, and has among some Zoners picked up a reputation as 'idiots first cap ship'. If you want to get this, make sure you have a Zoner ID, and/or that you receive permission on the Discovery/player faction forums. The Zoner Gunboat is an alright ship. It's reasonably small and fast, slightly above average in maneuverability. Its hull is about what you'd expect for its size, same goes for the power core and turrets. It fires all 6 turrets forwards, which is more than most gunboats its size can say. However, it fires only 4 of its turrets in most directions, and in its flanks and from above only two turrets can fire. As a light gunboat, it's not really suited for charging, but with its turret setup, that's the only viable option. Still, it's a zoner gunboat, and you can only expect so much combat from them.
