The construction of Antikythera Shipyard began two years ago during the Omicron Eta battles. The Reapers planned to take their time building this shipyard in order to have the best possible installation at their disposal before the exodus of Malta. Production was going smoothy until the Reapers' Safe Haven project got pushed forward faster than expected, resulting in the rushed construction of the yard. Using parts from Cartagena shipyard and Galicia Research station, Antikythera Shipyard was left unfinished, resulting in a severe Capital ship manufacturing problem, making it impossible to build any more capital class vessels for quite some time. For now all Reaper forces are forced to use primarily fighters until further construction and developement can take place on the base.

While visually a large and intimidating installation, the Antikythera Shipyard formerly produced the modified Border World Fighters designed at the Kara Facility. The Reapers had initially planned for the construction of capital ships at the yard, but the loss of Planet Braillia meant that the immense amounts of raw materials needed for such projects would have to be brought in from elsewhere. Although it did not produce any large warships, the huge moor allows for repairs to ships of almost any size.

With the collapse of the Reapers, the Corsair Empire wasted no time capitalising upon the chance to snatch up valuable assets within the rapidly deteriorating Cayman system and promptly moved to claim Antikythera for themselves. While the shipyard is currently damaged and undergoing repairs, progress is hampered by Coalition forces who also seek to claim the system for their own.
