Built at Southampton Shipyard in 809 A.S., the Battleship Ark Royal was immediately sent to the Newcastle system to deter the Mollys from making further assaults against Bretonian corporations and shipping, especially in light of their capture of Belfast Production Facility.

Its initial orders were to subdue the Molly presence within Newcastle and the reclamation of the Belfast mining base, but hostilities with Kusari caused resources for this operation to be diverted, and forced Ark Royal to limit itself to defensive operations within the system.

After the fall of the Leeds system, it became clear that Gallias next target would likely be Newcastle. Ark Royal has taken up position by the economically critical Scarborough , to defend the station against Gallic and Molly raids.
