The RNC Soltau is an Elbe class carrier which spearheaded a flexible division of the Westfalen's Hamburg fleet. When the Westfalen was relocated to Sigma-21, the Soltau and her escort cruisers were left behind to guard the critical installation of Vierlande Prison. The Soltau remained here for one month before a Coalition led strike force decimated all six of the Soltau's escort cruisers and breached the station.
The Soltau, severely damaged, managed to limp to Alster Shipyard where it now remains, undergoing extensive repairs. Rheinland, now aware of their blunder in leaving Hamburg and Cologne so poorly defended, have peeled ships away from the Koblenz' Frankfurt fleet to replenish the Soltau's losses. Rumor aboard Alster is that once the Soltau is back at full strength, she is destined for Cologne to act as a bulwark against an increasing Coalition and Hessian presence in Rheinland's southern systems
