The Fontainebleau Residence was built in the year 259 A.G.S. as the very first space residence for Gallic monarchs. Unlike Versailles which was built some 350 years later, Fountainebleau was (and still is) a medium-sized facility that resembles a common space residence rather than a gorgeous palace. Even before Versailles was built, it was not popular with the Gallic monarchs who preferred the vast spaces and plentiful services of their planetside residences. After Versailles was completed, the station was refitted to become an open civilian residence, catering mainly to wealthy Parisians who prefer to live in space.
