Areas of Interest

Nebulae

Bethlehem Nebula

Located not far from the Jump Hole into the Bremen system, the Bethlehem Nebula consists mainly of small water crystals.

Asteroid Fields

Coos Asteroid Field

A large field of planetoid-sized asteroids coalesced in near orbit of the system's star. Studies suggest that they are the remains of several small planetoids that were destroyed by collisions during the chaos of the system's infancy.

Bethlehem Ice Field

A medium-sized ice field in the New Hampshire system, located within the nebula bearing the same name.

Others

Haverhill Anomaly

>>>WARNING: NAVIGATIONAL HAZARD<<<<

A small cloud of dark matter and ship debris. During the climax of the war with Rheinland, a Liberty Carrier christened the "Haverhill" was ambushed near the Coos Asteroid Field by a hunter-killer squadron of Rheinland Cruisers and Bergelmirs. Unable to make it fully behind Libertonian lines, the Haverhill made a last-ditch effort to activate its experimental onboard jump drive while taking heavy fire.

A mortar struck the aft, and sheared the jump drive in two. The ship imploded, then sent out a massive dark matter explosion which enveloped most of the nearby ships. Many were destroyed, instantly killing hundreds of soldiers on both sides of the conflict.

As one of the few human-caused dark matter catastrophes in Sirius' history, Liberty has shown an interest in researching the leftover dark matter as it took up orbit around the New Hampshire star. The line of experimental jump drives that caused this anomaly has since been recalled. Scanners do not function within the confines of the cloud, making any exploration difficult.
