Barra Anchorage was a small Gallic Royal Navy outpost originally known as New Tours, erected to serve as a stable base of operations and a waystation for patrols in Tau-31. The station was captured by the Crayter Republic during Operation Ice Lance in mid 826 AS and renamed to Barra Anchorage, although the station is not yet capable of servicing larger vessels and the Crayterian Military's plans for a gunboat scale drydock facility are unlikely to be actualized in the near future.
Due to its position adjacent to Holman Outpost, this facility also monitored the activities of the Independent Miners Guild, a role which it has continued to serve under its new administration. It has spacious hangar facilites to maintain a number of fighter wings, and an advanced sensor array to monitor incoming and outgoing traffic within Tau-31.
The base experienced a number of technical difficulties early on which continue to baffle and plague the Crayter Republic, including an occasionally malfunctioning fire control system and severe issues with the gravity generator. Crayter engineers have found evidence of sabotage throughout the station, but no new issues have arisen since Barra has changed hands.
