The Renzu Corporation, a humble business concern that has survived the centuries amongst giants of industry, recently attracted a number of talented young shipwrights through promises of allowing a fresh expression of their talents outside the well worn channels of Kusarian business practice. Through a limited partnership and considerable speculative investment on the part of Interspace Commerce, these unique vessels have begun to creep into the open, and grey, markets of Sirius.
The heavy Anki Freighter, drafted to house extensive communication and electronics packaging beneath thick slabs of plating, was originally designed to prove attractive to deep space contstruction crews operating beyond the range of reliable security. However, it's not unknown for the Zoners to have a few models on sale for otherwise unlawful organizations seeking a freighter with a robust electronic package and overwhelming firepower.
Handling
The Anki has received both upgrades and downgrades in the recent patch. It now sports 2 gun slots, rather than 3, but still with 5 turrets, however the quality of its slots has been improved. Of its 5 turrets, it is able to fire 3 left/right, 2 down, 3 up, and 5 forwards/backwards, making it very effective at chasing or kiting. All 5 of its turret slots are Heavy Turrets. Its two gun slots are class 9 and class 10, giving it a missile slot and an elite fighter gun. Its power core is an average 30k freighter core, which is enough to sustain fire pretty well as long as you use a missile in the class 10 slot and not a gun.
The ankhi performs fairly well in terms of handling and size; it is above average at dodging fire.
Its engines are located in the front, making it easier for this ship to avoid being disrupted by normal cruise disruptors, compared to most freighters.
However, its various advantages come at the price of a small cargo capacity and small nanobot capacity.
The Anki has become increasingly popular in the vessel mark recently as a smuggling vessel. Due to its open and black market dealings it opens certain doors to such factions as the Outcasts to counter the Corsairs Correo with something worthy. This impressive vessel may not look like much but it has one of the best loadouts for a ship of its class and size in the whole of Sirius. A Class 9 Guns and Class 10 Guns along with five Class 2 Turrets mounts make up the Anki's debilitating firepower. This combined with its generous handling makes it a ship reckoned with when faced with a fair fight. It's not just a walking weapons platform either; the handling also contributes to its ability to weasel away from unfortunate situations.
Unfortunately you will be doing more fleeing than fighting when it comes to most encounters as all this comes at great sacrifice of power plant capacity. With advanced and optimum weapons the energy is drained from this thing in less than 10 seconds of refire. Like the Correo it's not a transport class ship either so it doesn't get the class four turrets or shields buff. But unlike larger transport class ships it manages to squeeze on all the gadgets you would need in escaping any pursuers. These gadgets including CD, CM and Mine mounts along with enough cargo space to add an armor buff if you’re feeling a bit vulnerable. Originally built in Kusari and sold on Interspace Commerce bases it's availability could be said to be slightly restricted to those unlawful. But the price tag is also easy on the eyes for all of this and a 500 unit cargo hold. 2.3 million will get you this and plenty of cheeky grins as you wave at the lawful authorities or unlawful criminals fading away into your rear view.Hardpoints
