Sandur Base is a new staging ground for the Gaians, built as a self-sufficient outpost in the Tau-31 system. It houses Gaian raiders and close affiliates who need a place hide away from the law or stay clear from monitored trade routes. Despite its location in Gallic occupied space, Sandur is arguably the most secure facility that the Gaian movement owns.
Due to its strategic position, the Gaians are able to recover much needed scrap and looted weaponry from hostile ships. Sandur utilizes these materials in the production of new Gaian ships and guns, something that has ended up saving them a lot of money for use elsewhere.
