The Sagarmatha class exploration cruiser was designed as a replacement for the aging Argus. One of few ships that were designed with extra-heliospheric travel in mind, the Sagarmatha engine array offers a massive amount of thrust, even for a vessel of its size, allowing the vessel to bridge the immense voids between the stars in half the time its predecessor could.

A number of these vessels have also been retrofitted for defensive purposes. The defense variant utilises its huge engine array tactically, allowing it maneuvers few other vessels of its size are capable of.
