Sirius has always been filled with stories of heroes and extraordinary individuals accomplishing the seemingly impossible and becoming legends among the stars.

Scarpia Purcenna is not one of those extraordinarily gifted people.

Born and raised on Camp Lister under the confederate IMG, Scarpia lived a simple life - not knowing of House laws, or of the major conflicts that raged across Sirius (even the Gallic occupation of the Taus only minimally affected her in Coronado; she'd only heard stories). Most of her life had been spent working the water collectors on Pecos, and experience on ships was minimal, save for the occasional apprenticeship to one of the more veteran miners during mining or trade expeditions to the Taus or elsewhere in the independent worlds. She lived a happy, quiet life as a daughter of the Independent Miners Guild, but somehow always yearned for more - stories from Freelancers, Zoners and traders would always pique her interest, as did space travel.

Everything changed when a trade convoy she was on encountered a small wing of ships from the Crayter Republic. The IMG convoy agreed to let two Crayterian pilots aboard after they two had showed signs of radiation poisining, and the IMG's large transports had the medical bays for immediate treatment. There she first learned of Crayter, and has not been able to stop thinking about them since.
