Huron is a lifeless, barren world in the heart of the Ontario system. Initial surveys did not indicate the presence of valuable mineral resources, but a thorough planetary survey revealed the presence of abundant and easily accessible deposits of [[Platinum|platinum]], which could be excavated more easily than other known platinum deposits in Sirius. Since then, several mining operations have been established planetside.
