{{Review|[[User:Kikatsu|Kikatsu]]| The Obstinate is a fine piece of engineering for sure.  She comfortably falls into the “Heavy Cruiser” class and has some of the best armor and power output in the cruiser family, and she looks good (though she is a bit of a pig in terms of maneuverability).  Her shape is pretty good for combat as well, essentially a shoebox, small front, narrow sides, big from the top and bottom with most of her weapons on the top.  The Obstinate can actually fire all her weapons forward, which is just fantastic for first strikes, not all cruisers can match the firepower of all 12 guns firing at once.  The heavy guns on the Obstinate are all located on her ‘head’, two on the top and two on the bottom with each of them being able to cover about 180 degrees port or starboard (it does seem that the these guns hiccup at times and do not point where you want them to).  The primary guns are located all along the hull, and the ones on the two front fins are the only ones that cannot fire backwards, and the ones on her bottom spine are the only ones that can fire down.  That is the biggest weakness of this ship, the inability to fire more than 2 light and 2 heavy guns down, other than that her coverage is actually pretty good.  Personally I have two pulse guns located on her spine, the rest are GRN turrets loading out her light mounts… I have a missile and light trebuchet for engaging heavier ships and a couple of Cerberus guns for general engagement.  The double pulses are not bad against shields and will not impact your energy too much, and the Cerberus guns can be exchanged for Glaives if you are fighting a lot of gunboats with this thing.  This ship’s only match ups come from bombers (which cruiser guns are too slow to hit) and battleships.  Count on fighter cover and the occasional Glaive blast to deal with the bombers, and just keep the battleships at range and pound them with pulses, missiles, and Trebuchets.  You should be able to bum rush any gunboats or lighter cruisers in an Obstinate, just get as close as you can and open fire and they will not last long.  Your main opponent will likely be Bretonian destroyers, which come close to you armor and power wise, but your Obstinate will have more guns, a smaller head on profile, and better firing arcs, so long as they do not get below you and you know what you are doing you will be okay.

Lastly this thing almost never fits into trade lanes and the autopilot can only dock with them one out of maybe ten times.

The venerable Obstinate class bore the brunt of the Council's efforts during the great war. With gunboats being reserved for future policing actions, or guerrila warfare should the tides turn, and those Battleships wrested at great cost too precious to commit to every battle, those vessels of the Obstinate class that emerged at all from the war found themselves suffering from grievous wounds.

Years later these vessels, many damaged and obsolete, maintain vigil over Council borders. However, beneath the veneer of scars and the corrosion of time resides the same ferocity and power that shrugged off forces that had foolishly considered themselves the greater.
