As part of the Gallic Royal Navy's campaign through Tau space, the Crayter Republic system of Tau-44 was targeted and conquered. During this time the Battleship Oblique served as both a defensive emplacement and a firm reminder to other groups in the region of Gallia's claim.
Whether by some act subterfuge by the Council or a change of heart due to the atrocities committed the Oblique, along with the majority of its fleet, made a surprise move in 822 AS by defecting to the Council. Perhaps as an act of repentance, the battleship and its accompanying forces retained their original role as the main defense of Tau-44.
Upon securing the Oblique, the Council reached out to the Crayter Republic in order to coordinate a joint strike aiming at recapturing the entire system whilst the Gallic Royal Navy was occupied at the frontlines. The strategy proved successful and the system was under their control a year and a half later.
With its duties in Tau-44 completed and the system left to the care of the Crayterian Republic, Battleship Oblique has been moved into the Provence system to act as a forward operating base for Council forces.
