In the case of the [[Outcasts]], it is to pulverise the [[Capital Ships]] of the [[Corsairs]] in fearsome battle. In general, these ships are used to destroy bigger threats that fighters cannot handle.

When there is a need to gain the upper hand against large numbers of [[Fighters]], [[Gunboats]] are called in to deliver devastating amount of damage to enemy fighters and absorb or avoid the return fire. Used wisely, Gunships are an invaluable asset to any fleet. The [[Tridente]] is often the largest [[Outcast]] ship seen away from their home systems, utilized by Outcast raiders and their closest allies.
