Synopsis

Dauphine is the site of many battles in the Second Gallic War, and currently the staging ground for the Gallic Royal Navy as they prepare to drive Council out of Languedoc. The system is currently in the state between large engagements, and tentative traffic can be seen going from Gap Station to Burgundy- but within the year the Gallic Royal Navy plans to destroy Council's southern segment, and Dauphine will surely be the site of many more battles before the war is over.

Areas of Interest

Bourgon-Jallieu Wreck

The site of what used to be Bourgon-Jallieu Station until it was destroyed by Council after a failed attempt to capture it during the Second Gallic War. The area around the trade lane juncture is filled with pieces of the station that were blown off or have since come loose, but enough of the station remains intact to remind travelers of the damage caused by the war.

Clelles Nebula

Many Sirius explorers are first sighted when they emerge from this nebula, as well as many large raiding parties of Unione Corse and The Maquis. The Battleship Guillestre is responsible for identifying any intruders coming out on its side of the field, and for launching patrols to track enemies leaving from the far side of the nebula.

Nyons Asteroid Field

An asteroid field in the northwest corner of Dauphine, the Nyons contains substantial criminal traffic as well as Planet Vienne- a budding world with a small-scale ecosystem, currently unsuitable for standard terraforming due to a low oxygen content.

Voiron Dust Field

Voiron is a large dust field in the southeast corner of Dauphine, and contains a small planetoid called Villefontaine. Expeditions to chart the planetoid do not often return, and a substantial presence of Gallic Brigands can be found within the field.

Notable Events

The Battle of the Gap
