It adds a message box to the page and adds the page to [[Category:Pages up for deletion]]. This makes it easier to mark and find pages. If admins use [[Page Deletion|this page]] to find pages that need deleting, perhaps a note should be added to this page as well as putting the template on the to-be-deleted page?
