The Hispania was one of the five sleeper ships sent by the [[Alliance]]. The Hispania was one of the five sleeper ships sent by the Alliance. She was badly damaged by Coalition saboteurs before she reached her destination and around half of its occupants used escape pods to abandon the ship near the Omicron Gamma system, later becoming the Corsairs when they settled on Planet Crete. The other half remained and drifted with the ship, founding a separate colony on Planet Malta in the Omicron Alpha system, later becoming the Outcasts.
Today, the wreck of the Hispania still drifts in orbit around Planet Malta.
