Misuto Station was intended to be nestled carefully out of reach in the until-recently-undiscovered system of [[Sigma-21]], and as such became the first installation that was established within the system. The system was initially discovered by a Kusari Navy expedition operating out of [[Honshu]] in 814 A.S., but the expedition was sabotaged by the Nomad infectees that were masquerading as their team members. As a result, the expedition was condemned as a complete failure and the news of the system's discovery and charting hasn't reached the [[Kusari]] government.

Predicting that the system will be rediscovered relatively soon, and will become a common gateway system, the Iseijin laid plans for Misuto. They designed the station to be both an observation outpost and a secluded retreat. For many years, unmarked shipments with unknown cargo were supplying the location with materials. Now that Humanity had finally 'discovered' [[Sigma-21]] in 823 A.S., the station is fully prepared to field havoc and chaos across the system. The scope of the station has vastly expanded, and has established a collection of aged [[Chimaera]]s with both Imperial and Republican transponders and markings, ready launch and target civilian and military traffic. These infested ships then fade into the Mekong Cloud, taking advantage of their superior knowledge of the system to avoid all pursuit.

Most convoys targeted by this facility’s wings are simply destroyed, their cargo vaporized or left to float in the void of space. But some specific convoys are disabled and captured instead, their cargo and crew hauled back to Misuto and never heard of again.
