Despite the solid performance of the Vache train during the early years of Gallic expansion, IDF is constantly lobbied for the construction of a ship with a larger cargo capacity. Long stymied in their efforts by a Royal Court that was more interested in collecting custom duties based on the number of ships rather than their contents, IDF finally found success by ushering through new tariff legislation that was based on tonnage. With the tax system no longer a barrier, EFL was quite willing to take IDF payments for the design and construction of a new transport, which after several delays and redesigns proved to be the most expensive conventional transport in either Sirius or Gallia.

The "Pachy", as it is affectionately known by its crew, boasts the largest cargo hold of any transport in Gallia, and is sold throughout the nation to both large and small shipping companies. In spite of their intense lobbying efforts to bring the Pachyderme market, its exorbitant price has prevented it from entirely replacing the Vache in the IDF Shipping fleet.

Handling

  • This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.
