History
Originally founded in 411 A.S by a group of Cambridge researchers with a plan to develop inhospitable and unusable planets.
Chartered in 500 A.S and under the terms of a Bretonian charter, this cadre of Cambridge researchers and California consultants, were given a challenge: Transform a planet from a cold, desert locale with a limited carbon dioxide atmosphere into an agricultural planet-within 400 years. Planetform was born. The company grew very slowly, dependent on the largess of the Bretonian Government for most of it's money.
Planetform had few enemies until 67 years ago, when the radical eco-terrorist group the Gaians formed within the research environments of Edinburgh's Gaia Planet and Cambridge University. The Groups amateurish efforts soon matured into a serious threat to Planetform operations throughout Bretonian space.
Planetform began manufacturing Xenobiotic Filters in 815 A.S., which are essential in creating stations. Due to the recent war with Kusari, and the current war with Gallia, Planetform has taken severe economical hits with the loss of Planet Harris and Planet Ayr, as well as Perth Station leaving Planetform much weaker than it used to be and many believed it to be on the verge of collapse. Many employees in their bretonian projects left with their understandings that their wages may not be paid.
Early in 819 A.S., Stephan Littlebury took over control of the company and is now attempting to rebuild the corporate strength that Planetform once held. Three years later, Planetform was still struggling. Littlebury had invested vast fortunes of the company's resources into odd and fruitless ventures and schemes. In 822 A.S, as the company slowly sank into debt and creditors were taking it apart one ship at a time, Littlebury gave up and stepped down as CEO of the company, retiring to a quiet and unknown location to research ways of terraforming a sun. Taking up the reins of power of the now almost nonexistent company, Clarissa Caldwell quickly took control. Carrington, a highly motivated individual, quickly reviewed the company's resources and made plans to push Planetform back to the forefront of planetary terraforming and beyond.
Within the first couple days, Carrington had successfully negotiated a number of deals with influential corporations and prominent individuals. To ensure the growth of her company and to aid in the stabilization of the war weary Bretonian economy, she secured contracts for sole use of Bretonian ships through out the Planetform fleet. Carrington quickly ordered and updated the current transports to Bretonian manufacture, selling the old, dilapidated fleet to local scrap dealers. To ensure the safety of the ships and the cargo they carry, Carrington insisted that each new ship be equipped with Cap V armor, giving generous almost interest free loans to those captains that owned their own ships, to update their armor.
Having secured her fleet, Carrington turned to the local Universities. Shifting the company's focus from the outer regions back to Bretonia would require new ideas and fresh ways of thinking, and to do that she quickly hired and secured the services of many of the graduating students.
Due to the heavy spending to revitalize the company and its future, Carrington was forced to cut back, shelf or otherwise scrap current and prospective projects. To ensure funding for the current projects and the growth of the company, new deals were sought out. With the help of her newest employees and the few scientists and researches that stayed on, Carrington, through new deals, sought to improve the company's standing and the desire for their products to bring in more funding.
With new ideas, more money, new people and new technological advances Carrington plans to pull Planetfrom back from the brink and to a place to support the crown of Bretonia better.
