History

Earlier Life

Randy was born on Planet Manhattan, his parents were both pilots for the Independent Miners Guild. However, after Randy was born they changed to the Mining division rather then the dangerous defense. So most of Randy's childhood was spent aboard mining vessels or ore transports, since his young age didn't allow him to do much, rather then help out the mechanics here and there. In his teenage years, his family had saved enough money to send him to an engineering university, so he went back to Liberty for his education, the years with the mechanics had already given a huge bonus so he quickly finished his education with the top notes and quickly returned back to his parents side as a engineer and mechanic for the IMG.

His first experiences of piloting a ship was quickly after he had joined the Guild, along with his assignment to the usual mining ships, he was also qualified for pilot training, which took a month for the most. But he soon returned to his work on the mining ships, and continued that for the next 6 months, easily taking the title of the best mechanic of his time.

A Change of Life

In the year 816, Randy's parents died, along with his fiancée Sarah. A simple outcast bomber blew up his parents' transport while Sarah was in it as well, and the escape pods after they had ejected. Randy was of course not very much himself after that, he took up drinking, and often got furious for no reason at all, he left his duties and took off in his ship, and wasn't seen in the Taus all the time, there were rumors that he had actually gone into a depression and killed himself. Though he returned a month later and got back to working on another mining rig, he didn't get drunk anymore, or wasn't mad, more like he had no soul at all, no emotions. No one dared to ask anything about what had happened.

A few weeks after he returned, he had applied for citizenship for the Colonial Republic and had also been accepted into the 44th battlegroup.

Today

Captain and CAG Randy Orbit, known as 'Reaper' among the Colonial 44th Battle group, is one of the most dedicated and loyal pilots the Republic has. His combat performance isn't known to be 'excellent' or 'high', although his actions has changed dramatically since his IMG times, he his more comfortable in his ship, and doesn't really give much of a damn to anything in the world except the Republic, he has climbed up to the Captain rank quite oddly, as it is hard to find any of his reports, battle or escort on the Colonial Database, not a usual soldier the Republic would have, but what is even more odd is that he was also chosen as the CAG(Commander, Air Group) of the 44th Battlegroup, quite quickly.

There is one thing he stands out at, which is his extreme loyalty to the Republic.

Pilot Personal Traits

Randy does not care about money, he doesn't care about what happens to people, he doesn't care to be the best, he doesn't care about life, and he certainly doesn't care about what people think about him. He is the perfect soldier. Takes his orders, and does anything necessary -no matter the cost- to get his job done.

He likes to live in luxury when out of the cockpit, although the cockpit is his true home.
